The activities of Novagen Genetics began in 2008 with the collection and processing of sheep and goat's semen, adopting its current name in 2010. In 2011, was created the business unit for technical training, training Brazilians and abroad professionals.

In 2014, Novagen started the activities of the In Vitro Embryo Production Center (CPIVE) for cattle, buffaloes, sheep and goats, as well as expansion of the Semen Collection and Processing Center (CCPS) for bovine and buffalo, and these homogolated by Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture in September of the same year.

In 2014, the Novagen Genetics signed two important international contracts of technology transfer, one with the Canadian company Reproductive Solutions for Small Ruminants, where there was transfer of technology for the in vitro production of sheep and goats' embryos, and the creation of courses and monthly consulting and the other with the Italian company Avantea, where there was transfer of technology for the in vitro production and freezing of embryos for direct transfer of cattle and buffaloes.

    • Reproductive Solutions for Small Ruminants: Prof. Hernan Baldassarre's company, who has over 20 years of experience with superovulation, collection and embryo transfer in sheep and goats, having collected and transferred tens of thousands of embryos.It was the first author to publish LOPU technique in sheep (Baldassarre et al.; Anim. Reprod. Sci. (35), 145-150), having performed this procedure on more than 1,500 sheep and 2,500 goats, averaging 10:14 per donor oocytes, respectively. Over the past 20 years, we have optimized the technique and has become the standard of excellence for the production in vitro embryo, zygote microinjection production (generation of transgenic) and the production of embryos by nuclear transfer (cloning).
    • Avantea: Prof. Cesare Galli's company, which produced the first equine clone history (2003), the second clone of horses (2005) and the first equine clone of clone (2008). Commenced operations in 1991 and was from 1992 to 1995 the world's leading cattle embryo production. Produced in 1995, they froze and sold 13,000 bovine embryos. Since 1992 they produce frozen cattle embryos and was the first company in the world to have cattle births of frozen embryos. In 1997, they produced the first cattle and buffalo born from OPU (Ovum Pick Up)
